Welcome to 2013! School resumed today and there are a lot of activities ahead in the new year. Here are some suggestions for ways to continue supporting the School for the Arts Community Organization (SACO) and SRCSA:
- Attend one or more of the remaining five SACO meetings of the year! Attendance at the meetings, which are held in the evening this year to accommodate different schedules, has been light. Support your organization while learning about what’s happening and providing direct feedback.
- Make a plan to complete your family’s 20 volunteer hours. There are several events ahead that rely on volunteer power, including Literacy Week and the Silent Auction. Please make a note of the kick-off meetings scheduled in January for these two events and/or contact the event coordinators. Classroom volunteers are always welcome, too.
- Sign up for E-Scrip, Target Take Charge of Education, and clip those Box Tops. E-Scrip must be renewed on an annual basis so please make sure you’re still signed up as we count on these funds in the annual budget. These three easy programs raise a good amount of money for our school while you (and your family members and friends) shop for essentials.
- Plan ahead! The updated SACO calendar includes events, holidays, furlough days, and activities through the end of the year to make it easy to look ahead.
The January SACO meeting is scheduled for this Wednesday, January 9 at 6:00 PM. The Silent Auction kick-off meeting, and the Monthly Communication Packet Assembly meeting, are scheduled for Friday morning. Hoping to see you at one or more of this week’s activities.
