Happy Spring Break!
Thank you all for a wonderful Winter/Spring at SRCSA. Through our various community events including the Winter Showcases, Tile Night, Family Reading Night, and most recently the Talent Show it has been a pleasure to be part of the school community with all of you.
The March packet includes the March newsletter (link) and the school calendar for the rest of the year (link). Since the March packets may or may not have made it home before break, I wanted to share the highlights here, and I have attached the packet materials.
Talent Show. The Talent Show, held at the Glaser Center on March 14, 2013, was a wonderful success. It was so fun to watch SRCSA students perform on a stage with professional quality sound and lighting. Special thanks to the organizing team and to all who attended the event!
Recognition. There are so many great things happening at our school! Check out this month’s newsletter and read about recent awards and recognition of our students, teachers, and school.
Silent Auction – April 20, 2013. The Silent Auction is coming up on April 20, 2013. Tickets will be available when we return to school post-break. In the meantime, we are still searching for donations to make the event fabulous so we can raise lots of money for the music program. The Silent Auction donation forms are available here: LINK. Please contact our event coordinators if you can help gather donations or donate an item or service. We are especially looking for wine and spa services.
Board Members Needed! Please consider becoming part of the School for the Arts Community Organization by joining our Board. The newsletter includes a list of the current Board members and the positions that are available. Nominations for President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, and Volunteer Coordinator are due at the April 3 SACO meeting. At the meeting, we will accept nominations from everyone present and at the May meeting, the new Board will be elected. Please contact me if you are interested in being nominated or becoming more involved next year. If you are potentially interested but undecided about how you might help, please feel free to talk to anyone on the current SACO Board. We are available to share our experiences and answer your questions to help you make a decision.
Skate Night! The second Family Skate Night at CalSkate will be on the Tuesday we return from school (March 26) from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. The first roller skating night held in early December was a lot of fun for families. While this second Family Skate Night is mostly planned as a fun family night for informal socializing outside of school, a portion of the proceeds will help fund field trips at SRCSA.
