Welcome to 2016-2017!

The School for the Arts Community Organization is very excited about the new school year at SRCSA and hope to see everyone at the Ice Cream Social planned for Monday, August 15 from 6:00 to 7:00 PM. We will hand out important information about the school year and ask for families to complete their Campus Directory forms. After a longer-than-expected hiatus, the Campus Directory will be published in October this year thanks to one of our wonderful parent volunteers. We will also have Student Education Enhancement Drive (SEED) forms and information about how your small or large business can sponsor this year’s Art Walk, newsletters, and other activities organized by SACO.

The school and SACO have worked together to develop a new, updated Family Handbook that includes all sorts of useful information about SRCSA. The handbook is being copied this week, and as soon as it’s finalized, it will be ready to distribute at the Ice Cream Social (we hope!) and will be placed on the SACO web site for easy reference. Most of SACO’s materials are already available on this web site.

New School Schedule

School starts on Wednesday, August 17 at 8:05 AM. Wednesday will be early release day every week this year (instead of Monday) so all students (grades K – 8) will be dismissed at 1:20 PM every SRCSA_Narwhal_final_OLWednesday.┬áThere are three release times this year– kindergartners are always released at 1:20, grades 1 through 5 are always released at 2:20 except on Wednesdays, and grades 6 through 8 will be released at 2:50 except on Wednesdays.

Ice Cream Social Volunteers Needed

Back to the Ice Cream Social on Monday the 15th! SACO is still looking for a few more volunteers to help. All Board members will be present and helping, but we do need a few more ice cream servers. It is hoped that returning families with older students might pitch in as a way of welcoming new families including our amazing incoming kindergarten families to our school. Volunteer shifts are only 1/2 hour in length so that everyone who helps can also participate in the event. Please sign up by clicking here.
